Walnut Dip

I really loved this dip. The recipe is loaded with walnuts that contain brain and heart-healthy omega-3s fatty acids. Garlic is considered a sulfur food. Sulfurs are responsible for transporting metals and minerals in the body.

I touched on the subject/importance of sulfur foods on the Join The Conversation Webinar about Hidden Foods and Healthier ChoicesCatch the REPLAY here.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups Walnuts Soak walnuts for 4-8 hours, drain, and rinse before preparing the dip
  • 10 gloves garlic
  • 4 tbsp lime juice freshly squeezed
  • 3 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
  • 1 cup water
  • 10 pieces quinoa/chia crackers recipe for crackers is also available
  • 1/2 tsp Himalayan salt
  • 1/8 tsp ground chili pepper

Instructions

  1. Blend all ingredients together in a Vitamix or blender until it is creamy.
  2. P.S. If you do not add the crackers, decrease the water to 1/2 cup of water and add as much as needed to a creamy texture.

Recipe Notes

Enjoy the dip with healthy crackers (see the recipe for quinoa chia cracker here) and crunchy vegetables such as celery, cabbage, radish, and cucumbers. I love to use it as a dressing for my salad as well. Experiment. Let your creativity take over. Have fun!
