I am a firm believer that pursuing a healthy relationship with ourselves shall come first always. A relationship we respect, love, and accept our uniqueness so that we can be loved, accepted, and be our best to others.
Yes, I am a day early sending you this message. That is because I want to encourage YOUR to prepare yourself to have a fabulous Valentine’s Day.
I am giving permission to share unsolicited ideas/thoughts for your February 14th…
Wake up and give priority to YOURSELF before anyone or anything else. It could be two minutes. The more, the merrier!
Say it out loud or Think out loud a few ‘I Am…” affirmations. If you still think affirmations are for woo-woo’s, you are at a loss.
A few affirmations to get you started: I am loved. I am love. I am healthy. I am beautiful. I am kind. I am courageous. I am free. I am talented. Affirmations may reflect you today and you in your future!
Jot down a few words/sentences that express your gratitude.
If you are also single, be extra kind to yourself. Think about ways to fuel your body and mind with love, kindness, appreciation, and positive energy. You do not need anyone else to bring you joy. Get it from within.
If you do have a partner to celebrate Valentine’s with, excellent. What activities do bring joy to both of you? What activities do bring you closer? What memory do you want to build by spending this Valentine’s together?
Whether you are single or have a loved one to spend time with, shut down all distractions (phone, TV, emails, challenges, controversies, politics, etc). Yes, you CAN do that. It’s about YOU!. Give Yourselves Permission To Be Fully Present and Enjoy The Moment. You Deserve It.
Happy Valentine’s Day!
On a side note…When you and you & partner are ready to up-level your fitness, the Be Fab – Be You Fitness Taster is a perfect opportunity to do that at a low introductory cost and risk.

Love the empowerment message and call to action this commercial sends out.
I agree 100% with the message of this commercial. No waiting! Take chances. Get outside your comfort zone. Go on to do YOU so that you feel proud and happy about the chances you have made. NO EXCUSES! Do YOU first so you that you are freaking awesome to those who deserve your company and awesomeness.
Hint…remember that good health, physical and mental strength, quality of life provided by health is our ticket to bring us the greatest happiness and achievements in life!
Go after what’s important to YOU. Not sure what’s THAT important–the kind that you would DO for FREE and forever? Put time aside to discover yourself and your thing! It does not have to be that big or that lucrative or important to millions or be so unique. It is YOUR thing and if you are passionate about it, the sky is the limit.
DO NOT LET ANYONE SAY OTHERWISE! Many people will question your actions because they are not ready to do something different. They are comfortable and with little desire to grow and discover their untapped potential. That’s OK they are not ready but YOU ARE. BELIEVE in YOURSELF and CHOOSE be around those who believe in you as well
One of the reasons I believe this is important is because I believe you want to wake up fired up every day– instead of dragging your body out of bed and do the same thing over and over. Opening your eyes and getting up daily to do something with more purpose and intention will make you happier and healthier!
Your Environment….
Build a growth environment. Be with people YOU care and CARE about YOU. DO and seek a lifestyle so that you feel well, have energy and confidence, look good and confident to follow your wishes.
Let me ask you this…Do any of these limiting beliefs are part of your vocabulary?
‘I don’t feel well’ or
‘I can’t do it’ or
‘I am too old‘ or
‘I am too tired’ or
‘I don’t have time‘ or
‘I don’t have money’ or
‘I’m not smart enough‘ or
‘I am not enough’ or
‘I don’t have willpower‘ or
‘I am alone’ or
‘I don’t have support‘ or …
Whatever other limiting beliefs are running your mind, DO NOT ALLOW any of internal and external naysayers to BE IN THE DRIVER’s SEAT!
YOU DRIVE. NO WAITING. NO EXCUSES!
Need support, accountability, help to take steps and make progress?
I am your coach and trainer. I am your partner in crime. Together, we can turn your health and lifestyle 180° around, just like I did to mine.
To all mothers, I wish your day is filled with love, kindness, smiles, and gratitude. It’s a day for self-care!
This morning, I talked to mom, who is thousand’s of miles away. I am glad to still have her and be able to share my love and appreciation for all she has done for me and my siblings. Mom raised us alone (ok—little help from neighbors). We grew up with little, yet, I have great memories of running around and playing on streets happy. Life was different back then. Mom was also the second mom to make other children she helped raise. I had my share changing diapers, feeding, bathing, and putting many children to sleep 🙂
I cannot thank mom enough for all she went through to set a great example. I don’t have a memory of mom being lazy, careless, weak, unfair–we got ‘tough’ love though :-). She did not raised us in any bubble. Let me be a kid and play on the stress, yet I had set responsibilities. She worked hard and as the youngest, I worked side-by-side with mom. Mom taught us the true value of money. She was mom and dad in one and that must be HARD to balance.
Character, personality, self-esteem, beliefs, and more are built at very young age. Parents have a huge responsibility and whatever experiences, believes, and reward systems are shared play a huge role in our lives. Surely as we ‘grow-up’, get exposed to real life, and make our own decisions, our experiences and beliefs create thoughts. In order to change them for better or worse, we must be aware of them and we need to work really hard to change them.
Cheers to all mothers (and parents) who are NOT averages, value their well-being so their children learn the importance of social, mental, physical, and spiritual health. One can teach all the ins-and-outs to make a living. Yet, there is no WEALTH without HEALTH! It’s best to learn earlier than later in life.
I would like to take a minute to send you my best wishes during this season of love, giving, memories, and reflection. Whether you celebrate Christmas, Kwanzaa, Hanukkah, Solstice, or simply the changing of the year, this is a great time to BE.
My family’s tradition in Brazil has been to spend Christmas Eve and celebrate passage together. I’ve always LOVED it. It’s my fav holiday and season of the year. Last year, I spent quality time with my family in Brazil. This year, I am spending time with friends in Atlanta and has been wonderful–check a few moments I’ve captured thus far.
Talking about self-care, as you reflect on 2016 to start 2017 ‘right’, I ask you when was the last time you took time to just BE? How often do you practice SELF-CARE?
I would like to invite you to watch/listen here to Andy Puddicombe’s Ted Talk on 10 minutes of doing nothing. An added bonus is his accent! Thinking to watch it later? Are you really going to? Likely not, right? The time is NOW. Be PRESENT. Be IN THE MOMENT. Do it for YOURSELF!
Make it a blessed and fulfilling day. With love from my heart to yours,
Likely you are not only a mom to your own children. As women, we may well play an irreplaceable role in someone’s life. Have you thought about it?
Mothers are heroes—moms, step moms, grandmas, aunts, sisters, best friends and mentors when alive—and then they may well become guardian angels.
Who play an irreplaceable role in your life?
How will you celebrate all of the mother figures who have made a deep and lasting impact: the women who love you unconditionally, who support you through difficult times, who demonstrate courage and grace in the face of a challenge, and who help you enjoy life’s happy moments?
If you’re a mother, practice self-care and appreciation! Do something for YOU. What does bring you peace, make you smile and relax, see the bright side of things, and appreciate the small moments? As you look around you, right now, what are three things you can be appreciative of?
As soon as finish reading this paragraph, try this…close your eyes, take a deep breath, drop your shoulders, and relax your jaw, your mouth, your forehead. Do this periodically throughout the day, every day, and you will notice positive outcomes. You will feel more FAB! You will feel more empowered to keep making awesome decisions about your lifestyle and continue to help others!
I would like to share my mentor and health coach’s though because I thought it was so applicable to many of us out there:
Perhaps she [your mother] wasn’t perfect; she may have even been hurtful or not fully present at times, but honestly she likely did the best she could with what she had going on. Ultimately, you are here because of her, and YOU are a gift!
Mom and I – Dec 2015
Surely, I am calling my mom in Brazil as soon as I post this note. She will be 72 years old in September. Dad was not there parenting at all. Mom played mom and dad’s role. She worked hard to put food on the table for me and my older siblings. I remember times we ate the same thing daily because there was much else she could afford. Until today, there are few foods I cannot smell because makes me a little sick to stomach as I ate too often, especially beef. If I ask mom to tell me the nutritional value of tripe, she cannot tell me that’s a great source of protein, zinc, selenium, B-12, and some saturated fat (at the time, meats were always from grass fed animals). Yet, mom knew and knows tripe helps bone, growth, and energy. Dona Celina and her husband treated me like I was one of their children. They fed me countless meals. I was lucky to have had them in my life.
My sister, on the other hand, was given a responsibility to help to take care of me plus house duties at young age while mom was working to put food on the table. As a grew up, sister became a protector, especially when mom got angry and wanted to beat the hell out of me J. Nobody is perfect and that’s our job to put ourselves on others’ shoes to understand what drives one to do x, w, and z. The bottom line is, siblings and I turned to be all right. None of us got into drugs, alcohol, and unhealthy habits. We were great students. We started working at young age and gave mom money to help for expenses. I paid for my first bicycle at age 12 making/sewing moccasin shoes by hand. I remember vividly the day I went to store to get the bicycle. WOW!
Dona Celina – Dec 2015

It’s self-care day. It’s Saturday work-life balance practice day. Yay!!!
Are you giving yourself a few hours for self-care on a weekly basis?
Moved my fanny playing sand volleyball with my lovely friends–I must say, I put minimum efforts on the court. I felt more recovery workout since I had worked out pretty hard on Friday. Blue skies, sun shining, and warm enough. My plans with a client for afternoon changed so after volleyball, I hit the sauna. I met a nurse in the sauna and chatted health and nutrition away for a while. I ended up staying in longer than usual and body called for a nap.
Went home and two hours later, ~6:30pm, I woke up with sun shining outside still and with a ton of energy. Worked on a few misc work stuff for 4 hours and bed again. It was a pretty darn good day. Napping in the afternoon and waking up with sun still shining was just amazing! I hadn’t done that in a long time!

What’s fun to you? How often do you find asking yourself when was the last time you had fun? or have to think hard to remember fun times or time for yourself? Sometimes, we just don’t even think about it.
Fun and relaxation are important to healthy living. Our hormones love and need! I cannot lie. Unfortunately, I have neglected them for the past 1.5 years. I have been focused on getting my business up and running. Changes are on the way. Spring is perfect season for that 🙂
Today, from the moment I woke up around 7:30am to about 4pm, I’ve done things I love:
Ate a healthy breakfast: hard boil pasture raised eggs, avocado, soaked/dehydrated walnuts and brazil nuts, goat’s milk kefir. Healthy protein, fats, and carbs/probiotics.
Moved my fanny at the gym (more below)
Played doubles sand volleyball — perfect weather in low 70s and sunny this morning. It had beena while since the four of us played together. Right shoulder has been bothering. I irritated a little more though 😳
Ate my power house and complete meal smoothie (ask recipe if you’d like to know more)
Sauna for 30 minutes followed by nice shower
Stopped by at a couple of places for grocery shopping…cooking yummy stuff tomorrow!
Now, I am ready to get a few hours of work done. Cheers to self-care and fun!

“The smallest act of kindness is worth more than grandest intention.” –Oscar Wilde
So true. This quote reminds me of scuba diving. I have been intrigued by sharks the moment i came close to one diving for the first time 15 years ago. In 2013, I was inches away from great whites, a dream on mine i wanted to accomplish by the age of 40. So thrilled and thankful I did it.
Cool and so what? what does that have to do with smallest act of kindness? Under water, although seeing the big animals is awesome, the most precious moments and experiences come from taking the time to appreciate the small creatures. watch carefully how they breath and move. It’s precious. It makes me smile. Brings me peace. This appreciation started during a 5-day liveaboard scuba trip in Australia almost 15 years ago. One I hope to never be wiped out of my mind.
What does that have to do with health and wellness? a lot, actually! Stress is a silent killer. Practicing deep breathing, shut your eyes, and transporting yourself to a place and/or moment that brings you peace, makes you smile and relax is one of several FREE and easy ways that can help you manage stress! Remember to focus on things YOU CAN CONTROL!
