Be Fab – Be Moving! Hurt So Good!

Hello Wellness Warriors! Have you heard people who enjoy physical activity say “It hurt so good“?

That was me on Monday, a day after steep and speedy 5.1 miles hike, and after yesterday’s 38:30min workout.

Hurt So Good
Hurt So Good!

5 Rounds:

10 Pull-ups

10 Push Press 45lbs bar

30 Kettlebell swings 35lbs

20 GHD Sit-ups

20 Abmat sit ups

50 air squats

Averaged 7:15 minutes rounds 1, 2, 4. Rounds 3 and 5 dragged my overall timing down as I broke down routines into smaller reps to breath.

I did this workout alone; everyone else was doing a different WOD. It is always interesting to listen and evaluate the ‘conversations’ between the ‘let’s go’ and ‘you are tired’ sides of the brain are having. I like to win the battle with  ‘LET’S GOOOOO!!!!!‘. I feel awesome after I exercise, so why do I let the conversation take place? Well, I am a human. Winning the battles makes us stronger, help build consistency, strength, confidence, and we feel better!

As a personal trainer and health coach, I must be there for my clients. Would you agree most of us need a push, vote of confidence, motivational words, kick to believe in our abilities? When I work out, especially on my own, I tell myself (what I tell my clients):

  • KEEP MOVING!
  • BREATH AND GO!
  • I CAN DO IT!
  • MOVE YOUR FANNY, MARIA!

That said, how are you moving your fanny today, tomorrow, the day after, and the day after that?

Kickboxing Is Back

My Saturday, 3/26/16, morning was exciting. Got about 10 minutes of kickboxing in before completing the WOD movements that surely could have destroyed my shoulders. Took it easy on the weight, focused on form, and shoulders came home with me 🙂

I met Erica a few weeks ago at the gym. She’s also a personal trainer who knows my former personal trainer. I trained with Ken before I joined Crossfit Atlanta and then became a trainer myself. Talking to Erica, we learned that we both missed punching, kicking, and kneeing. I love offering that to my clients and they seem to enjoy as much as I do. On Saturday, Erica and I met at 8:30am for a quick warm-up and got each 10 minutes of fun. It’s just an awesome way to release stress and get heart rate up quickly. Once we were done, both of us 9:00 AM class for some more action.

I forgot how long it took me to this workout.

Pull Ups, Box Jumps, Power Snatch

10x Pull ups, 10x power snatches 55 lbs, 25x box jumps 20in. How did you move your fanny?

Do 3 rounds for that for a good workout. completed in 12:32min

My upper back is so so sore from Brian’s work on me yesterday. Very expected…It’s not my first rodeo.

Have moved my fanny was the right thing, followed by IDLife post workout to help with muscle recovery. This morning, I could tell I was dehydrated? How? easy…just look at the color of urine is one way. Thus, so had a hydrate with approx 40oz of water within less than two hours. Muscle tissue is approx 75% water…let’s drink!
